Lost and Found
Rhyming Verse Honoring African American Heroes
(Connecticut River Press)

Valarie Smith, my sister, is the artist who created the wonderful images throughout this book. We have done much together: from playing as youngsters in the Boston neighborhood of Jamaica Plain, our childhood home; to vacationing summers on Martha's Vineyard as adults; to standing by our mother's side as she took her last breath. Our collaboration in creating this book - my verse, her drawings - makes me see two young girls walking hand in hand, kicking up colorful leaves on a blissful walk home from school.

Perennial Secrets, Poetry & Prose
(AuthorHouse)

If you tell a secret, is it secret no more?
Discover the beauty of a spring day as if for the first time; thrill in the magic of personal change at many stages of life; embrace the splendor of nature in its simplicity; experience the loneliness of hearts scarred by racism; and revel in the subtle humor about everyday living.

These poems will make you feel like an interloper, peaking into secret recesses of emotions suddenly set free.
